Hello everyone!

It’s been a while but with the amazing activities and busy planning it’s IMG_8440very hard to take a break and blog. Among many of the great food we have had, Richtree located at the Eaton Centre in Toronto was one of my favourites! Luckily, the food items on the menu at Richtree use all-natural, fresh, local and in season ingredients IMG_8439INCLUDING ANTIBIOTIC AND HORMONE-FREE MEATS!!! I am a very healthy person so this was just an awesome bonus. The restaurant offers takeout and dining services. They also have a taco truck which is so adorable and convenient which also serves all types of burritos and tacos (beef, chScreen Shot 2015-08-06 at 10.15.51 PMicken, fish). I enjoyed my time there and the tacos were so tasty. I recommend Richtree to everyone! Thank you Richtree Market for having me and the rest of the Miss Teenage Canada delegates eat at your restaurant. Forget about Taco Tuesday when you can have tacos any day of the week. ūüėČ

Here are just a few more places you can enjoy Richtree Market: College Park, Bayview/York Mills Centre and Square One Mississauga

Check them out and I promise you will not regret it!!!

Until next time,

Alexandra

‚ÄúDon’t you find it odd,” she continued, “that when you’re a kid, everyone, all the world, encourages you to follow your dreams. But when you’re older, somehow they act offended if you even try.‚ÄĚ– Ethan Hawke, The Hottest State

A Dream, a vision, a goal, a desire, these are all things most of us know we need when we are working towards success but have somewhere along the line, forgotten why it is so important we follow them through.¬†In a simple sentence, my platform is to motivate young women to be who they want to be. I believe that with encouragement, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. In today’s society, it is very hard to do what YOU want to do. By this I mean that there are going to be parents and/or friends influencing your mind and even a person themselves might go with the safest option or try to please others.

As many of you are probably wondering…why did I choose this platform? My platform has a lot of meaning to me. It is not something I just chose but something with a lot of thought behind it. Growing up I realized that I will never be truly happy unless I chose to do what I wanted to do and who I wanted to become. Dreams take a big part in this because everyone has a vision of how they want their lives to turn out or what they would love to have happen to them. True happiness comes from within and with outer surroundings it may be hard to focus on what you want for yourself. I came to a point in my life when I decided I’m going to follow my dreams and I have never been happier. I want young women like myself to experience inner happiness and to not be afraid of doing what they desire to do. The outcome may surprise them.

Being crowned Miss Teenage Canada would allow me to have the chance to speak about my platform. I would go to a countless number of events to talk about my platform to young women and try my best to empower them. Young women need to have that voice of encouragement and they seek reassurance. Stepping out of your comfort zone isn’t easy but it’s worth it.

Until next time,

Alexandra

“Canada is one of the most impressive countries in the world” – Barack Obama

backgroundWho wouldn’t expect great things from the world’s second largest land mass? Canada is a nation filled with natural beauty and prosperity. Besides the good roads, respected banks and amazing views of Niagara Falls, this country could really brag about all the other things that set it apart from other countries.

Canada is a unique land with many faces, with its diverse ethnicity and varied landscapes. Canada is a free country; every Canadian has the freedom of conscience and religion. We are able to decide what is right and wrong, what religion we believe in or believe in nothing for that matter. Canadians have the freedom of thought, belief, opinion, expression, freedom of the press and other media communications; not to forget our free health care and education. We are also given numerous amounts of rights listed in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms

Arctic-ice-cave-001¬†From the many mountains in the west, to the barren lands of the arctic, each hold their own beauty. Canada has more lakes than any other country. The province I am from, Ontario, contains about a third of the world’s freshwater, spread over 250,000 lakes. Many Canadians enjoy “heading up to the lake” during their free time or on a weekend off. From the cold winter season to our hot summers, Canada is amazing all year round.

Many celebrities such as Rachel McAdams, Jim Carrey, Ryan Gosling, Justin Bieber, Pamela Anderson, Drake and the band Billy Talent which attended my high school, are all from Canada. Canada is filled with talent and every single person from Canada always says they are proud to be Canadian.

I was born in Canada and have been living here for almost 18 years now. I travel often but toronto-canada-10nothing ever compares to my home country, Canada. Especially, with the area I am from, Toronto, where great and interesting things are always happening. I am so proud to be Canadian and thankful to be living in Canada!

Until next time,

“I started reading about people of great accomplishment… and it dawned on me
suddenly that the person who has the most to do with what happens in your life is you.” – Benjamin Carson¬†IMG_7813

When people tell you high school is going to be the fastest four years of your life, you simply doubt them. I can honestly say high school has been the fastest, best and worst four years of my life. Thinking back to all the things I had planned for my future and how dramatically my plans have changed is crazy. I’ve accomplished so many things¬†these past 4 years which I never thought I would ever be able to do. I can still remember learning to tie my shoes, walking home by myself for the first time, learning¬†how to read, and now I am a high school graduate. I want to thank all those who helped me along the way, especially my beautiful mother.¬†

I hope to make everyone around me very proud one day. To me, the world seems infinite, IMG_7517everything is changing one second at a time. From this day on, I am jumping into my future with enthusiasm, placing no limits to what I hope to accomplish, dreaming big, and bringing excellence to everything I do.

Until next time,

Alexandra

“In life, if you don‚Äôt risk anything, you risk everything.”

1. I Love Music Festivals

As many of you probably do not know, I love going to music festivals. I started going to these events at the age of 15 and have not stopped since. I have been to VELD, Digital Dreams, and have seen many of my favourite DJs perform live. I have had the best memories created from music festivals.

2. I Grew up in Toronto

Even though I live in Mississauga and hold the title of Miss Teenage Mississauga, my entire childhood took place in Toronto. Toronto is my favourite city in Canada and I love visiting it. I moved to Mississauga a few years ago but Toronto will always have my heart.

3. I Live a Healthy Lifestyle

As I have mentioned in a previous blog post, I workout on a regular basis. Going to the gym is very important to me, not only to look good, but to also feel good. I go at least 5-7 days a week and can not stand missing a workout. I am also a vegetarian because of my love for animals and wanting to make healthy food choices.

4. I Love to Travel

There is nothing more in this world that I love more than to travel. Seeing new places and being able to have the opportunity to experience a different culture is beyond amazing. I plan on travelling most of the world by the time I am 30 years old and would hope to be living somewhere beautiful on an island or where there are beaches nearby. So far, I have been to almost all of Canada, Poland, Cuba, Mexico, New York, California and Miami. I hope my next trip is very soon!

5. I am European

Most people can never guess what my background is. Both of my parents are fully Polish, making me Polish. Besides my mom, dad and brother, the rest of my family (aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins) live in Poland. My family and I travel to Poland every few years to visit them and catch up.

Until next time,

Alexandra

“Follow your dreams. I am not saying it’s going to be easy, but I am saying it’s going to be worth it.” – Moffat Machingura

I am more than proud to announce that I am your new Miss Teenage Misssauga 2015. Let’s get to know about myself more in depth…

My name is Alexandra and I am 17 years young. I am currently a grade 12 student in Mississauga, Ontario working towards achieving my Ontario Secondary School Diploma. I would consider myself ambitious, passionate and very determined. At a very young age I have always motivated myself to follow my dreams and see where they can take me, with that being said, here I am. If there is one thing that I can tell young girls, I would tell them to be who they want to be. I believe that with encouragement every girl should be able to achieve her wildest dreams and beyond. Regardless of what your friends may think or even enemies, CHASE YOUR DREAMS.

There are several things I love to do in my down time. One of my most favourite and rewarding hobbies is volunteering. I have volunteered many times in my community, always seeking for more ways to assist. One of the most life changing experiences I have had was volunteering with the disabled children at my school. This brought a different sense of life and fulfillment to me that no other regular day could bring and I will certainly never forget it. Growing up I have tried almost everything. I used to be a gymnist, a ballerina, a soccer player, a swimmer, a horseback rider, a dancer, a singer, and on top of all that I used to do taekwondo. You may wonder if I still do any of those things but unfortunately, I do not. I still love to ride horses every now and then and dance here and there. In fact, I do go to the gym on a regular basis and incorporate yoga into my daily routine. Being fit and healthy is one of the most important aspects to me and because of this I have also decided to become a vegetarian. Becoming a vegetarian was an easy task for me because of my love for animals and eating healthy. In my kindergarten days I wanted to become a vet but I am terrified of needles and causing any harm to an animal would be against my will. Besides my eating lifestyle, I love hanging out with my friends. I have amazing friends that I am grateful for every single day and there is never a dull moment. I love shopping, eating out, and adventure. Out of everything I do, I have a huge passion for travelling and experiencing different cultures and landscapes. I live for the thrill of things.

So there you have it. Being crowned Miss Teenage Mississauga has been one of the biggest accomplishments in my life and I cannot express how excited I am about the journey that is going to take place. I will be constantly volunteering, attending charity events, raising money for Free The Children and many more amazing things! I’m just your average pageant girl following her dreams like any other girl should.

Until next time,

Alexandra
